Nairobi, Kenya - A real life tragedy of untold magnitude
befell a Kenyan "couple" when some strange forces saw
the two stuck together after an infidelity session at a
Nairobi guest house early this week.

However, counteracting forces came into play when a
local pastor called upon to pray for divine intervention
commanded the duo to separate, to the bewilderment of
the amorous man the adulterous wife.
According to news reaching AjabuAfrica.com, and a
youtube video widely circulated on the internet, the
cheating “couple” got “stuck” in the highly embarrasing
situation with the man completely unable to get off the
woman.
 The graphic video displaying minute by minute
progression of the drama has gained over 135,000 hits
after only 3 days since posting.
Reports indicate that the husband to the woman had
suspected for long that his wife was cheating on him.
  Feeling betrayed, he is reported to have visited a
witch-doctor who applied black magic on the wife,
causing the unfortunate man to get stuck inside her
during the act.
 After several hours and repeated efforts to separate
failed, the “couple” decided to call for help using a cell
phone.
Police responded to the distress calls but for hours,
they could not rescue the pair from
the “black magic”.
A big crowd of curious residents,
some perched on nearby rooftops and
stone fences, swelled outside to
witness the drama, as police ran out of options on how to
help the two.
Many jostled for position to take a glimpse of the
unfolding drama, with some snapping pictures and live
video footage with their cell phones and hand and other
held camcorders.
Others tried to openly entice policemen with money in
order to be allowed to jump ahead of the line for a
better chance to take a glimpse of the unfortunate
situation.
 “Young man, what is going on? Just say what your
problem is so you can be helped,” a policeman, speaking
in local dialect (Kiswahili) told a bewildered looking,
naked man lying prone on top of the half naked woman
who covered her face with a piece of cloth.
Dumbfounded friends pleaded with the woman’s husband
to agree to have the pair now facing embarrassment of
untold magnitude separated.
Eventually he agreed to have them separated on
condition the cheating man paid him Kenya shillings
20,000 as compensation for damages and
embarrassment suffered.
However, audio from a widely circulated video indicated
the husband said eh would not want the cheating woman
back.
The cheating man had little choice but to agree to the
deal.
To seal the deal a pastor was summoned to pray for the
divine intervention.
“We rebuke the spirit of devil!. I now call the mighty
God......, who hates the power of death, to call upon your
name now ....,” loudly declared the clergyman who burst
into the tiny room filled with a number of police
officers and curious onlookers.
 He then proceeded to ask the couple if they believed in
the name of God.
 “Munaamini mungu?” (Do you believe in God?).
 After the man said yes and nodded further in
agreement, the pastor then commanded him to get off
the woman.
“Siutoe hiyo kitu. Toka!” (Pull that thing out. Out!), the
pastor commanded.
A short while later, the man succeeded to separate
himself from the woman who was now sobbing
uncontrollably.
For a moment, the mesmerized man stared at the people
in the room in disbelief, before he was able to move and
gather his clothes.
 “Anaangalia namna gani huyu? Huamini,” (Why is this man
staring like this. You don’t believe it?), a policeman was
heard asking the man.
 Once free, the bewildered looking man gathered
courage, dressed up and was escorted rushed to a
nearby ATM while the woman remained sobbing in the
bed, too ashamed to make any move before the curious
crowds could be successfully dispersed.

UK Visa: Nigerians Begin Payment of £3,000 Bond

Visa palava :Britain will commence the scheme in the six listed Commonwealth countries in November,

Financial Times report quoted the Home Office as saying.
The Commonwealth countries to be affected by the policy which was announced in June are
Nigeria, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The affected countries are considered to be source of “high risk” tourists to the UK.
Some visitors from the six countries, under the scheme, will be asked to pay a £3,000 cash
bond in return for visitor visas that allow them to stay in the UK for up to six months.
According to official data, these six countries accounted for more than half a million visa
applications in 2012.
There have been outpours of anger by governments of the affected countries, especially
Nigeria and India against the policy.
A protest in India last month forced the British Prime Minister David Cameron to declare
that final decision had not been taken on the policy, while the Nigerian government asked
Britain to renounce the scheme.
The Federal Government, through the Foreign Affairs minister, Olugbenga Ashiru, had in
June expressed “the strong displeasure of the government and people of Nigeria” over the
“discriminatory” policy.
Ashiru warned British High Commissioner Andrew Pocock at a meeting in the minister’s
office in Abuja, barely 24 hours after the policy was announced, that the move would
“definitely negate” the two country’s commitment to double trade by 2014.
The minister told the British diplomat that Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, had “a
responsibility to take appropriate measures to protect the interest of Nigerians who may be
affected by the proposed policy, if finally introduced.”
The British High Commission in Nigeria after the meeting issued a statement quoting Pocock
as saying that his government planned to undertake “a very small scale trial of the use of
financial bonds as a way of tackling abuse in the immigration system (which occurs when some
people overstay their visa terms).”
He said that the details of the scheme were still being worked out and if it goes ahead in
Nigeria, it would affect only a very small number of the “highest risk” visitors.
“The vast majority would not be required to pay a bond. Those paying bonds would receive
the bond back, if they abided by the terms of their visa,” he said.
More than 180,000 Nigerians apply to visit Britain each year and about 70 percent or around
125,000 of these applicants are successful, he said.
A Home Office official said the six countries highlighted were those with “the most
significant risk of abuse”.
The Home Office said on Friday that only individuals deemed “high-risk” would be asked to
pay the bond. But some officials admits that the mere mention of a bond would be enough to
deter visitors.
“In the long run, we are interested in a system of bonds that deters overstaying and
recovers costs if a foreign national has used our public services,” an unnamed Home Office
official said.
Ashiru said on Sunday that the UK embassy had not communicated to his office the plan to
commence the bond scheme.
““They have not communicated with me,” the minister said when The PUNCH sought his
reaction to the latest development.
In the UK, luxury goods retailers have denounced the plan as an “insulting deterrent” to
wealthy tourists, which will hit sales and damage London’s reputation.
They are urging the government to drop the pilot, saying the restrictions will damage their
business if Commonwealth tourists – particularly Nigerians, now the sixth biggest spenders
on luxury goods in the UK – are put off.
“It’s embarrassing that our country would consider these measures against visitors who
spend so much in our stores,” Managing Director of Harrods, Michael Ward, said .
“There seems to be a deeply frustrating attitude in Westminster that they should do
whatever they can to actively prevent people coming to the UK,” Ward added.
Harrods is reputed to be the biggest department store in Europe, occupying a five-acre
site in the royal precinct in London.

Eileen Brennan Dies; Award-Winning Actress Was 80

GIST: Eileen Brennan, an acclaimed, veteran actress and
Oscar nominee for her role in 1980's Private
Benjamin, has died, according to reports. She was 80.
Brennan passed away last Sunday at her Burbank,
California, home after a battle with bladder cancer,
her management company confirmed.
"Our family is so grateful for the outpouring of love
and respect for Eileen," her family said in a
statement. "She was funny and caring and truly one
of a kind."
"Her strength and love will never be forgotten. She
will be greatly missed by all of us."
Brennan was known for character roles as sassy,
brassy women, the kind with a sandpaper surface but
a light, pure heart.
Brennan appeared in classics like The Sting, The Last
Picture Show and Clue.
She reprised her role as Captain Doreen Lewis in the
television adaptation of Private Benjamin and won an
Emmy and a Golden Globe for her work.
Her career shifted more towards TV, guest-
appearing in hits like ER, Murder, She Wrote, 7th
Heaven and Will & Grace, in recent years.

Over the weekend, Nigerian acts joined Kenyan stars in a Pan African festival meant to
foster African unity and boost the African talent.
Dubbed Boombaataa, the festival held at Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, and was headlined
by Ice Prince and Davido who were joined by fellow Chocolate City stablemate Victoria
Kimani. On the decks were DJ Caise, DJ Purpl and DJ Joe Mfalme.
Kenyan acts included Sauti Sol, Amani, Fena and Sound Afrique.
During a press briefing before the concert, BET award winning act, Ice Prince said winning
the international award ‘doesn’t mean more cheddah. It means more work more videos and
more music to be born. I will not just sit back and rest I have to work even harder.’
The Boombaataa festival will be a yearly pop festival that celebrates African music, arts
and culture in a day filled with good music, good food and African arts. This festival is
organized by AdrenaLIVE a branch of Adrenalin In Motion that specializes in organising live
events.

new trilogy would start the story several years after

POLITICS  Embattled New York City mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner is facing a chorus of calls to get out of the race, but vows to
soldier on until the September primary.
This in spite of the fact that his poll numbers are down and the
the departure of his campaign manager over the weekend
signaled more cause for alarm.
“At this point, it’s absurd. He is not going to be the next
mayor of New York. He is wasting time and space,”
Democratic strategist David Axelrod said.
“Americans believe in second chances, but not third
chances ... It’s time for him to go away, and let New York
have its mayor’s race,” he added.
Axelrod is not the only high-profile Democrat who's seen
enough Anthony Weiner nude photos and sexting headlines
to last a lifetime at this point.
Former White House press secretary Dee Dee Myers said
Bill and Hillary Clinton - who Weiner's wife Huma Abedin is
a longtime aide to - are also fed up.
“This isn’t a story that anybody, particularly the Clintons,
are happy to see ... I think they as much as anyone would like
to see this go away,” Myers said.
Rivals from the opposing party also want him out. Weiner’s
longtime foe, U.S. Rep. Pete King (R-NY), said that he has a
“pathological problem.”
“He should do himself and everybody a favor and step to
the sidelines. He is not psychologically qualified to be mayor
of the city of New York,” King said.
King had a problem with Weiner long before the first
sexting scandal that derailed his Congressional career in
2011, but is even more incensed now.

Sydney Leathers made headlines last week when she was
revealed as the other party in Weiner's latest nudie pic
swaps, but has turned on him pretty harshly.

says Weiner is not qualified to be mayor.

but not just because of these scandals,” Quinn said,
blasting his lack of a legislative record.
“He was in Congress for 12 years. He passed one bill.”
But despite the growing criticism and the departure of his
campaign manager, Danny Kedem, Weiner pressed on with
campaign stops over the weekend.
"We’ve gotten more volunteers and more people coming
over to help the campaign in the last several days than any

Amanda Bynes: Bitter, Resentful of Controlling Parents For "Pushing Her" Into Acting?

deeply resents her controlling parents for “pushing her into

acting, a career she never wanted.”

Amanda “was frustrated, as they wanted her to act and she

herself liked in was Hairspray."

"She didn’t get any enjoyment out of acting.”

In 2010, Amanda announced she was retiring.

She moved to NYC to start a new career. Says Rivera, “She

and was trying to make clothes.”

Amanda’s parents weren’t exactly on board.

The former child star “sent pictures of the dress she was

working on to her mom, who didn’t have anything to say

about it, which was really frustrating."

The tension between Amanda and her folks had been going

“She said she’d never been close to her family,” Ana claims.

“She was jealous of her sister, Jill, and the praise she got

from her parents."

Jill "is a teacher and has two kids and a great marriage. It

felt like a real sibling rivalry and everything Amanda

secretly wanted.”

Amanda "also didn’t get on with her dad. She said he was too

overprotective."

"They tried to get in contact, but Amanda would get mad at

them for sending texts, even though they said ‘Amanda, we

love you. Please get in contact.’"

"She felt like they were telling her what to do. It would

always end badly."

What Amanda wants may be irrelevant now, as a judge has

extended her psychiatric hold as she battles her parents

for control of her own affairs.

Ana - along with Bynes' parents - believes Amanda is a

danger to herself and others and could be in a mental

institution for the rest of her life.

Amanda is now on medication she believes can help her win

her freedom, which is a positive step if nothing else -

admitting she needs to be on it.

A hearing has been set for August 1.

Michael Jackson's wrongful death trial was halted on Wednesday
(July 24) according to new reports, after a blogger was allegedly
"ejected" from the Los Angeles courtroom for apparently taking
pictures of the jurors on his mobile phone.
William Wagener was reportedly asked to leave after bailiffs spotted
him breaking the rules and taking pictures, despite him being a regular
spectator at the proceedings, meaning that he must be familiar with
the rules.
He was banned from returning to the courtroom for the rest of the
day and lawmakers have yet to decide if he'll be allowed to return for
the remainder of the case as Katherine Jackson and his three children
sue concert promoters at AEG Live over the superstar's death in
2009, BBC News reports.
Mr Wagener claims he mistakenly took the photo inside the courthouse
and that any ban on him entering the courtroom would impede his
covering the trial.

He previously attended the entire Michael Jackson child abuse trial in
2005 and has accused prosecutors of not telling the truth and the
world's media of lying about what went on in the courtroom.
He has since launched an appeal to raise $10 million (£6.54m) to make

of child abuse allegations.
The blogger still has a long way to go, so far raising a total of $10,000
(£6,540).
